To the Editor:
I realize that Hutch Hospital is sort of \"off your beat\", but I think you can develop a good yarn about the culpability of the Board members and how they have managed to escape accountability for that awful woman ... who they violently supported despite mountains of evidence.
I hope you can find the time to dig into that still-unresolved mess, including attempting to piece together how much the board of directors pissed away through that woman. That has been a well-guarded secret which needs airing.
Hope you\'ll go for the gonads on this, as the Hutch News continues to whore the story because of Buchanan, BW no longer has any reporter capable of understanding the situation out there and poor Cliffy is too lazy to do any hard hitting news. So, it\'s up to you, Dwight, to ferret out the truth.
Signed: Just and Idea for You, Dwight Write Comment (1 comments) |

HUTCHINSON -- Yes, it’s been awhile. But resisting urges has never been my strong suit, and I can’t any longer ignore the desire to try and write something spiffy. Or just write something.
Plus, I just had to pass this along, stolen from only God knows who:
It takes 7 seconds for food to pass from mouth to stomach. A human hair can hold 3kg. The length of a penis is 3x the length of the thumb. The femur is as hard as concrete. A woman's heart beats faster then a man's. Women blink 2x as much as men. We use 300 muscles to keep our balance when we stand. A woman has read this entire post. The man is still looking at his thumb.
<
In my circles, anyway, most of the idle chit-chat the past several weeks has been about the three men and a woman being held., some in our 17th century jail, on charges of conspiracy to commit aggravated robbery, and a fourth for alleged computer crimes.
And it all, from the start, has been a failed government smoke-screen, and at times an outright comical pretense, to keep the public from knowing the truth … that the arrests were really about the June shooting death of Jennifer Henkel, perhaps the most horrific case of mistaken identity this city has ever known. HUTCHINSON -- Republicans around the nation and right here in Hutchinson, KS are stumbling in their efforts to deflect credit from President Obama for the recent and righteous killing of mass murderer and mad dog terrorist, Usama bin Laden.
Many of us thought the FOX News and/or the comment section in The Hutchinson News take would be some variation of (with apologies to Medialine’s “Jane”) “ Washington D.C. Black Man Kills Elderly Pakistan Resident!”
And of course, the startled GOP is arguing the killing of the world’s most famous terrorist is not a political victory for the Democrats … a laughable assertion.
It’s a “Victory for America” they yell, their emotions and fake grins falling all over their standard red ties and boring blue suits. Not for the Democrats, not for the Republicans, and certainly not for America’s community organizer and ragtime president, Barrack Obama. Bin Laden’s death is not something that can be “politicized,” they snort. Write Comment (9 comments) |

HUTCHINSON -- Whoa … say what you want about Hutchinson News Publisher John Montgomery, but the man knows how to light up the comment section.
Montgomery announced yesterday The Hutch News will start charging a subscription fee for people like me who read its newspaper on its website.
Cool. Can’t say I blame him.
And I hate to say I told you so … but I did … years ago, on this very site. One of the anonymous comments I got at the time was seemingly from management or maybe even from a member of the Harris Enterprises board of directors: “Dwight … you’re so naïve.”
Yeah … well … .
But just to make sure I’m clear, I have no problem with the decision to charge to read online content. For me, it’s simply a question of whether I go back to subscribing to the print edition or whether I’ll pay to read it online. I’m leaning toward online. Write Comment (11 comments) |
